SpeechGeek Performance Diagnostic
Competing at forensics tournaments serves a dual purpose: to both learn and achieve. As an educational activity, competition is the time when your hard work is reviewed by coaches and judges who provide feedback to help you be a better performer the next time around.
The problem is that not all judges are equal observers. Consider everyone’s feared ballot that reads “Good. Good. Good. Last Place.” Nothing is more frustrating than getting less-than-useful feedback. After all, that’s what helps make competitors into champions.
SpeechGeek is proud to unveil our Performance Diagnostic service. For no more than the cost of a tournament entry, coaches and students can have a team of national champion competitors and coaches review any public address or oral interpretation event performance.
Each ballot comes with no less than two pages of typed notes on content, delivery, tone, performance, levels, pacing, and other critical aspects of your desired event. Ballots are returned within 7 days of performance submission. Unlike during rounds, our review team is never rushed to move on to the next performance.
SpeechGeek recommends Box.net for sharing and delivery of performances videos.
Performances should first be recorded using a digital video camera. This can be easily done with most smartphones or media players. Next, customers upload their files to Box.net. Files must be less than 5G if using Box.net.
Once the file has been uploaded, please complete the following web form to share the location of your performance and provide insights useful to our review team. Locate your file in Box.net and select "Share." Copy and paste the file link in the online form.
This will notify our reviewers of the availability of your performance video. It also provides our review team with insights into the type of performance, areas you wish to improve, and performance history. Performances will not be reviewed until an order has been placed.
Please note, SpeechGeek does not repost or share your videos with anyone other than the ballot writers.
SpeechGeek is not responsible for any copyright or use violations stemming from performances uploaded to public video sites such as--but not limited to--YouTube, blip.tv, or Google Video.
