Since 2002, Drama Tree Press has published award winning scripts for performers of all ability levels and audiences of all agees.  Our collections are filled with stories people can relate to, laugh at, and cry over.  They are filled with characters we can cheer for, grow with, and carry within us.  Our titles have been performed all over the country in competition and as full length shows, have been at the top of many national and statewide tournaments, and in many cases are much more than 10 minute cuttings.  Rather, in our literature,  you will see shows that allow for no two cuttings to be the same.  One constant with our literature is the use of flashbacks and narration to create complete stories.

The Silence of Edward Jones Scott Lewis

So You Think You Can Play Serin, Croft, Stevens

Before Sammy Davis Junior, before Cole Porter, there was Charlie Thompson; a little know trumpet player that disregarded racist beliefs and set out to become the first black musician on the big band scene. In a small jazz club, Charlie crosses paths with a young Frank Sinatra just starting his career in 1938. Frank, learning from Charlie’s actions and melodies, goes on to not only sing the first inter-racial duet on national television but also to star in the pro-tolerance film “The House I Live In”. The melody of Charlie’s message is just as relevant today as it was in his time. Amidst modern context, perhaps it even takes on a new beat.  (2m)
